Homemade Biscuits Recipe:
Ingredients:
227g Vanaspati (Dalda, butter, or ghee)
1/2tsp salt
64g Icing sugar
1 eggs (or 50ml milk)
256g Flour
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
【Optional: 1 beaten egg (or milk) + cashew nuts】
Instructions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 180℃.
Prepare Dough:
In a mixing bowl, cream the Vanaspati (Dalda, butter, or ghee) & salt.
Add icing sugar and beat until well combined.
Beat in one egg until the mixture is smooth.
Gradually add flour and cardamom powder, mixing until a dough forms.
Knead Dough:
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it until smooth.
Shape Cookies:
Roll out the dough to your desired thickness and cut into square-shaped cookies.
Optional Topping:
If using the optional topping, brush beaten egg over the cookies and place a cashew nut on top of each cookie, lightly pressing it down.
Bake:
Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake in the preheated oven at 180℃ for 15-20 minutes or until the cookies are lightly golden brown.
Cool and Serve:
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once cooled, serve and enjoy your homemade biscuits!
Note: Adjust baking time as needed based on your oven's performance and the desired level of crispiness.
