Let's explore ultrasonic additive manufacturing (UAM), friction stir welding, and 3D powderbed technology. Beyond using some of the most efficient manufacturing processes, they use fiber-optics to collect quality control data. Via the SBIR (Small Business Innovative Research) program, Fabrisonic is developing a 3D printer to send to the ISS (International Space Station) and the machine they're using for its iterative design might surprise you!
