The Lake Dolores and Rock-A-Hoola Waterpark operated for 42 years in Southern California’s Mohave desert between Barstow and Baker. With peak attendance between the 1970’s and mid 1980’s, the park offered Las Vegas-bound motorists an enjoyable, refreshing respite from the blistering Southern California summer sun. Forced into Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in 2000 due to crippling debt and an employee injury lawsuit, the park now sits abandoned and decaying due to the unrelenting desert climate and undeterred vandals.
