I got this server back in 2019 from my previous employer. It is a circa 2013 1U server from HP. Unfortunately Gen8 does not support UEFI boot which I later found out. I got it for pennies on the dollar and will likely use it for just testing/dev work. My production server will be a Dell PowerEdge R730. In this video we will take a look at the server, pop the hood and evaluate the internals, boot the server, let you guys listen to how loud a 1U server can get, and poke around at the iLO management interface. It also came with iLO Advanced, which I extracted the key to preserve. I plan to max out the RAM in this server at a later date. :)

Current Specifications
x2 Intel Xeon E5-2640 @ 2.50GHz, 6 cores, 12 threads ea.
32GB RAM (x2 16GB 1333MHz DDR3 SK Hynix Registered ECC)
HP 530-FLR-SFP+ (x2 SFP+ 10Gbps Cages, FlexibleLOM NIC, based on QLogic chipset)
Smart Array P420i Controller (6Gbps SAS and 6Gbps SATA, 512MB cache?, it does have a battery but don't know the status of it)
x2 750W Power Supplies (DPS-750AB-3 A)
x8 SFF 2.5in HDD bays
DVD Reader
iLO 4 Advanced
It did have a Brocade Fibre Channel x2 8Gbps card in it, but I removed it. It was likely for a SAN network? When I bought it, it didn't have any RAM or hard drives in it. I added some temporary ECC RAM just to post the system, yes 32GB is temporary to me lol.

The system was originally an VMware ESXi host for a hospital.
