On December 18, 2019, the Spanish company NAVANTIA in Cartagena completed the construction of the hull of the submarine S81 'Isaac Peral'. This milestone marks an important step in the submarine's construction, as the solid hull is the part that helps the submarine withstand water pressure and protects the crew from the dangers of the underwater environment.

The submarine S81 'Isaac Peral' is one of four S80 class submarines being built by NAVANTIA for the Spanish Navy. These submarines are considered among the most advanced in the world and are capable of operating for weeks without ever coming to the surface.

The delivery of the submarines to the Spanish Navy is expected to begin in 2023, after completing the necessary tests and certifications.

Launch maneuver is the process by which the submarine is brought out of the construction slide and into the water. The process involved the use of a series of cranes and tugs, which lifted the submarine and moved it to the launch ramp.

Once there, the gate connecting the shipyard to the sea opened and the ramp began to flood. The submarine then slides into the water, while the towing and launching vessels make sure it stays upright.

When the submarine is in the water, a series of tests are carried out to verify that all systems are working properly. This includes navigation, propulsion, and communication tests, among others.

It is important to emphasize that launching is an important process that requires great planning and coordination on the part of the teams involved. Any failure or damage could jeopardize the integrity of the submarine and the people working on it.
