Twin Peaks Explained - The Secret of Secrets: The end of Twin Peaks season 3 is explained here in terms of Transmission Conversion and Storage. The theme of the dual self (Daemon and Eidolon, from Anthony Peake's book: 'The Daemon: A Guide to Your Extraordinary Secret Self') with it's relation to non-linear time helps us make sense of the season 3 ending. Although, I wouldn't say David Lynch was directly influenced by Anthony Peake, but both men must have read about Vedic philosophy. The dualism of worlds and characters is a theme explored throughout Twin Peaks. The influence of Greek Mythology and Jean Cocteau's film adaptation entitled 'Orpheus' (1950) seemed to be a highly influential film for David Lynch and many others. Orpheus is an incredible piece of film making and very much worth your time. It is available here (as of this writing):
