We've all been wondering what Nikon was going to do with Red Digital Cinema Cameras now that they bought the company. The path just became a bit clearer: Nikon pushed the Founder & former CEO (James Jannard) and the current CEO and co-owner (Jarred Land) to "advisor" roles. Nikon put in their own CEO, Keiji Oishi.

Previously, Oishi had been the Manager of User Experience at Nikon Imaging, so this is a big promotion and a pretty drastic culture shift. Tony Northrup digs into the merger to try and understand Nikon's future plans for the cinema camera company... are they going to completely absorb what is now Red, or will they try to take advantage of the benefits of a fast-moving US tech company? One thing is for sure: Nikon isn't going to let Red keep doing business as usual.
