Peter Jackson's 1994 film 'Heavenly Creatures' was based on the real-life murder of a woman by two teenage girls that took place in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 1954. However, the murder case was also the basis of a screenplay written by Angela Carter in 1988. This script never made it to the screen, but it was eventually turned into this radio play. Fiona Shaw narrates.
