This tour of the Cranbrook Campus of Cranbrook Kingswood Upper School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (the historic Cranbrook School for Boys) was made by curator Kevin Adkisson, Cranbrook Center for Collections and Research, for the Graduating Class of 2020.

Cranbrook School opened in September, 1927, through the generosity of George Gough and Ellen Scripps Booth. The school was designed by Finnish-American architect Eliel Saarinen with assistance from recent University of Michigan graduates (and Saarinen students) Henry Scripps Booth and J. Robert F. Swanson. Saarinen's daughter Pipsan Saarinen Swanson provided decorative schemes and son Eero Saarinen provided sculpture and gate designs. A more detailed inventory of artists featured in this video can be found at center.cranbrook.edu and historic images are available at https://cdm9024.contentdm.oclc.org/.

Architectural tours of Cranbrook School are not regularly available, but please contact us at [email protected] to inquire about special tours or events at Cranbrook.
