This is a 4 month (18 weeks) durability update for Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax, applied to just the rear quarter panel section of the blue test Honda. The paint was prepped using Meguiar's M110 & M210 abrasives, followed up with Klean Strip Prep-All prior to applying the wax to the paint. The car is a daily driver, ungaraged, and no toppers have been applied throughout the duration of this durability test. The paint has only been washed using CarPro Reset soap on a regular basis.

Overall, at 4 months of durability, Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax (HCLW) has been significantly degraded. We've lost the awesome short term hydrophobic performance, and have now shifted over to a hydrophilic behavior.

However, after drying the paint with a fresh clean microfiber drying towel, this is able to remove some of those remaining leftover surfactants that can sap the higher surface tension out of the paint. A physical dry wipe is able to restore some of the hydrophobic properties and surface tension back into the paint, giving us evidence of the survivability of HCLW at 4 months.

It's always tricky to determine actual product survivability of different protectants that have developed a low surface tension on the paint. We cannot be 100% certain and there's plenty of room for debate of when it's proper to acknowledge a full failure of a particular protectant. Based on my observations of the degradation of the wax over time, I can make the determination after the dry microfiber towel wipedown that the wax has indeed survived.

The coating on the left door was CarPro CQuartz at over 2 years of durability, recently topped with Hybrid Ceramic Detailer. The coating on the rear bumper section was the Blackfire Pro Ceramic Coating, also recently topped with Hybrid Ceramic Detailer, approaching 2 years of durability.
