For 2019 Mazda's roadster gets a number of key improvements including a new 2.0L engine with more power and a higher redline. The result isn't a radically new Miata by any stretch, but it is a welcome refinement to one of the most enjoyable cars to drive in America. Mazda's MX-5 is also an automotive unicorn, actually shrinking over the years. The compact dimensions and lightweight construction are the quintessential traits of a classic European roadster and Mazda combines that with an affordable price tag and high reliability. It's a hard combination to beat.
