Last week, Ford unveiled its first all-electric van in the form of the 2022 Ford e-Transit.

For those in Europe, this newly-announced van will be the latest in a long line of readily-available plug-in vans that customers can already buy.

But in the U.S., Canada, and most of the rest of North America, the Ford e-Transit will be the first mass-produced electric vehicle you'll be able to buy.

Which leads us to ask the following question: Why are electric vans already really popular in Europe - but not in North America. We're about to tell you why.
