Islam has provided divorce as a means to end a marriage that is not working out. It has laid down clear procedures and etiquettes that need to be followed. Unfortunately, many Muslims do not follow God-given guidance and instead resort to making divorce ugly and painful. It is not uncommon for ex-spouses to spread rumours in society or to use their children as pawns to blackmail the other party.
