Business columnist Terry McCrann says Australia’s complaint to the World Trade Organisation over China’s economic coercion “is going to get nowhere”.
The Morrison government said China's trade bans on a number of Australian exports including barley, beef, coal, and wine are against international trade rules and appear to be politically motivated.
“I think we’ve got to probably go through the process,” Mr McCrann told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“We’re supposed to have this body which is to make sure people play by the rules in international trade but clearly, it’s going to get nowhere.
“China will do what it wants to do and it will ignore any attempt to haul it into line.”
