A viewer from Sweden, Olle, recently asked if Tesla radar and sonar have to deal with interference from other cars--and how they mitigate this interference. After adding lidar to the mix, here is a reasonably thorough answer, with details about what radar, sonar and lidar are, how they can be affected by their environment and/or other cars around them, and what steps are being taken to mitigate what could be a life threatening problem if two cars interfere with each others' detection systems! With the growing possibility of autonomous driving and robotaxis, this problem takes on even more urgency.
