Meet the Hairy Octopus!

What would be a good nickname for this lil'octo?
🎥: Ryan Hannan-   / brandon_hannan_photography

Not to be confused with an Algae Octopus, the Hairy octopus gets it's name from the hundreds of tiny skin spikes they have on their body that resemble hair blowing in the water.

👾 They are MUCH smaller than most anticipate, this one is only an inch long! (Full grown they’re smaller than a golf ball!)

🤔 Have you ever heard of this species?⁣

😅 We like to affectionately refer to them as the Chewbactopus LOL⁣

🗣 Here is what Ryan had to say... ⁣

🤩 “To say I am excited is an understatement. This video below is of a Hairy Octopus. To my knowledge I don’t think anyone has found them here in Okinawa, Japan! This is a bucket list cephalopod for me. I spent 35 mins watching and photographing this guy. Truly amazing this guy is only 1in. in size.” ⁣

Know someone who would think this lil’critter is cute? Feel free to share!!
