The others I'm riding with are on a Suzuki DRZ400 and Honda CRF300L. On the forest roads, they had to push pretty hard to keep up with me, but you can tell their bikes were much more at home on the gnarly stuff. We did some pretty good trails, but this one, the rocks got a little much for my skill level on the X300. For the record, the next day I took the KLX250 up this hill with no problems at all, but its much more challenging riding the X300 on these kinds of trails, that it makes me want to keep doing it. I wonder if the Kawasaki engineers had this kind of trail in mind when they built the X300 - but overall it did extremely well and much better than I expected.

People often ask if I will change the stock sprockets on my X300. This is one of the primary reasons I stick with stock. Trails like these really make you appreciate the stock gearing!
