There are two parts to fixing or replacing a broker or damaged pop up sprinkler. First is to replace the broken part, the second is to adjust the new sprinkler.
Fixing the sprinkler head requires detaching the upper portion of the sprinkler from the body or removing the body from its connecting elbow. Unscrewing the part and replacing like for like, all that is left is to adjust the sprinkler. This video covers specific Rainbird pop up rotor sprinkler replacement and adjustment. Refer to manual for other brand sprinklers.
