3 years ago me and my wife wanted to build a unique vacation getaway and we decided on a container home. Nothing went to plan and it was put off for a few years but we are finally in a position to finish the build. I wanted to make a series of videos that document the entire build process, step by step.

The goal is to keep the videos at about 5 minutes and go over the progress we've made week by week. if something is unique, or you have questions I can go more in depth about the techniques used, but I am aiming to go over the process at a 30,000 ft view.

in this video I go over the window install which was achieved using 100% silicone and plenty of self tapping screws. so far they haven't leaked in about 3 years of sitting on our property. The frames are 2"x2" tube steel (1/8" thick) that are welding completely around each frame to the curagated metal siding. Doing this added some much needed rigidity to the building.

The in slab plumbing was done by a local plumber and is pretty standard for any building type. The only unique aspect to our build is the location of the drains in respect to the I beams that run side to side under the floor. luckily we were able to be flexible and move the pipes over a few inches (causing us to move an interior wall).

The slab was way over engineered and is an incredible 9+ yards of concrete because of the enormous footers. Those footers are 3' deep, 8'6" long and 3' wide. One thing I can say is this baby isn't going anywhere.

next week I'm hoping to upload progress on our roof and interior framing!
