The OPEC disagreement and subsequent delayed agreement, ultimately contributed to the price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil hitting NEGATIVE $38 a barrel, which also gave rise to oil tankers as a viable storage alternative in a situation where land-based storage capacity had evaporated.

Popular YouTuber Jeremy who runs the Financial Education and Financial Education 2 channels, even advocated for the public to buy shares of NAT in late April, which no doubt helped fuel interest and excitement towards an otherwise uninteresting company.

Regardless of the circumstances, NAT has greatly benefitted from converting its Suezmax oil tanker vessels to floating storage units, and looks likely to continue reaping financial rewards well into 2022 and even 2023.
