Sallim-dong has earned a spot in my top ten favorite neighborhoods in Seoul. It's small but packed with steelworkers, Japanese colonial-era houses, great views, and Seoul's first commercial and apartment complex. The exact image of Korea's 70s has remained almost unchanged for 50 years. The people who work there are masters of their craft, and it’s difficult to find any craftsman that worked less than a decade on his craft. Unfortunately, I have heard that the entire neighborhood will disappear, and many neighborhoods like this are no longer there, so a visit while you still can is a must. 산림동은 제가 서울에서 좋아하는 동네 탑 10안에 드는 동네에요. 작지만 빽빽히 차 있는 철 장인들과 일제 건물들, 멋진 뷰, 그리고 서울의 첫번째 주상복합 건물까지... 50년동안 한국의 70년대 이미지를 고스란히 간직하고 있는 장소입니다. 또 여기서 일하시는 분들은 그들의 기술을 통달한 장인들이십니다. 여기서 10년 이하로 일하신 분을 찾기 힘들 정도니까요. 안타깝게도 이 동네 전체가 사라진다고 하니, 그 전에 한번 방문해 보는 것도 좋을 것 같습니다! 이번에는 도시 탐험가 @whereisdan 과 함께했습니다!
