My name is Eric and I own and run a full service auto salvage business called Importapart located in the Saint Louis MO area. In this video I tear down a 5.3L Front wheel drive LS4 from a 2008 Impala SS. This engine also comes in 05-08 Grand Prix GXP, Buick LaCrosse Super, and Monte Carlo SS. This particular engine is a 58x variant. I've had a TON of these engines through the shop but this is the first one I've torn down in a long time, first one for the channel too. I note the differences between the front wheel drive and the rwd platform engines, as well as what common issues I normally see.
