A Fort Lauderdale Police officer was shot and a suspect was killed during a shootout at a Holiday Inn Express Thursday morning, officials said.⁠

Footage from Chopper 6 showed a massive police presence in the area, with officers swarming the hotel.⁠ A police armored truck could be seen parked outside the hotel and other footage showed an officer sitting in the back of an ambulance nearby.⁠
