Product Review HO ExactRail Woodchip Gondola SP - How does this older model train hold up?

Southern Pacific's G-100-12 class wood chip gondolas were built by FMC in 1965. They had a 7466 cubic foot capacity.

By 1990 most of these cars had been transferred to Georgia Pacific with GPSX reporting marks.

These HO scale cars feature composite construction, with a metal frame and plywood filling in the sides.

They were designed to be unloaded with rotary dumping, and have no discharge gates on the underside.

This is one of the last models Dan purchased from ExactRail before they were bought by ScaleTrains. Though the tooling for this model has been around for a number of years, it still holds its own with newer offerings.

This car is authentic and has a lot of detail, and even comes with Kadee couplers!

As usual Dan evaluates the model's packaging, prototype accuracy, paint & detail, and how well it operates and conforms to applicable standards.

If you're a fan of the Southern Pacific, modern logging and mill operations, or just trains in general be sure to check out this unboxing and product review!
