This weekend I set out to find a mobile redflex camera van to compare sever different radar detectors. However, with no camera van in sight I was left to improvise. However, my simulated redflex test setup seems to work well. This also allows testing to be conducted more reproducibly and under controlled conditions. The testing also us to get a good idea of the relative performance and sensitivity of these detectors.

The test looks to compare:

Radenso DS1
Uniden R7 (US 140 vs 138 International firmware versions)
Navty P1
Genevo Max NZ
Uniden DFR9forNZ new firmware version 105.104.118

I also test comparatively on the R7 the US 140 firmware and the 138 International firmware. There is not much to choose between them, but 138 seems to be the most reliable and consistent of the two.

Taking the averages of the runs we get confirmation of sensitivity in the order:

Radenso DS1 : Uniden R7 : Navty P1 : Genevo Max NZ : Uniden DFR9.
