A mix of classic lorries and other commercial vehicles, mostly turned out with immaculate old-school signwriting, turned up for an informal lorry meet one morning last weekend. The lousy weather put paid to several expected vehicles turning up, but despite that an interesting mix of old lorries/trucks braved the elements and rumbled into the parking area outside the Midway Truck Stop.
Classic lorry enthusiasts were met with vehicles such as Leyland Beaver (x2), Bedford TK & S-Type, various ERF lorries (including a twin-steer "chinese six" example), Foden, a Peterbilt truck, Austin LD, AEC, Volvo x3 plus others. Many of the lorries featured superb examples of vintage signwriting, I hope you don't mind that I take a close look at several instances of the traditional signwriter's art while walking about on this particular rainy day. Apologies for the sound going a little haywire, I think by mid-way the water was getting into my camera's microphone....
