Venus Williams won Wimbledon 2001 by defeating Justine Henin in the Finals 6-1, 3-6, 6-0. It was Venus' second Wimbledon win in a row as she also won Wimbledon the prior year, in 2000, defeating Lindsay Davenport 6-3, 7-6. Serena Williams made it to the Quarterfinals of Wimbledon 2001 where she lost to Jennifer Capriati. ********Here are some Interesting facts...after winning Wimbledon 2001, Venus also won the next slam, the US Open 2001. That was back-to back slams in 2001. Venus did the same thing a year prior, in 2000...she won Wimbledon 2000 & US Open 2000 back-to-back.
