In this video I'll cover very important issues regarding long term parking an electric vehicle, in this case a Tsla Model Y. It was only for 11 days but it was a learning experience at least for me. I also tell you why I cancelled our Full Self Driving Subscription or FSD.

We recently took a vacation and we left our Tesla Model Y parked at LAX and because you have asked in the comments things like: How do you store a Tesla long term? or How do you preserve the battery while parked? I decided to put this video together.


As of today, an internal combustion engine car continues to be the practical choice. We had to charge our Tesla Model Y almost to capacity and leave it with enough charge for the unpredictable. Then, we had to charge it again as soon as we left LAX in order to be able to get home in San Diego, CA.
Using Sentry Mode drains the battery tremendously but, when off, the car consumes minimal energy while parked.
