Today I talk about how it can be tiring to be dyslexic - and it's not just reading or spelling that can make our brain feel tired.

Trying to get our brain to do something that isn’t natural does mean it takes us a lot of concentration and energy.

Our brains naturally see the bigger picture, make connections, jump from one thing to the next quickly.

Remember our processing of visual images is around 32 images per second (word thought is 5 words per second). So wrangling our brain to focus on one task, or stay with what needs to be done now can be tiring.

The answer is to work with this … Allow yourself that freedom of thought, and then bring your mind to what needs to be done, or the steps you need to take.

Knowing that your brain does get more tired by seemingly “simple” tasks means you can learn ways to work with your brain.
