In January, we set off from McFarlane Saddle in the Alpine National Park on an overnight hike to Lake Tali Karng. We crossed the Wellington Plains and camped at Nyimba Camp on the first day. Then, we hiked down to the lake and back via the Gillios Track, before walking out via Millers Hut (we car shuffled for this) on the second day.

This is a popular two day hike in Victoria's High Country and is perfect for beginners. The lake is a special place for the Gunaikurnai Aboriginal people, so please be respectful of the area.
