OVERVIEW
The world space industry is as active now, as it hasn’t been for a long while. New players have joined in the space game in the last ten or so years. One of the more prominent ones – and, perhaps, the richest – has been the United Arab Emirates. They are intensively developing their national space program, avidly drawing from the benefits of international collaboration to raise their own cadre of space engineers and specialists.
In July 2020, the UAE is going to launch its first deep-space mission called Hope. It is aimed to study the in-depth Martian atmosphere. This is as much a science mission, as it is a beacon to attract attention to this small Gulf nation as a fast-growing space force to be reckoned with. The Hope is also a great way to inspire the nation’s own youth to work in the country’s leading-edge tech domain. The UAE is becoming a big influencer in space now, bringing benefits for the whole space community worldwide.
