Jan Kaplan's documentary, The Return of Freedom, in the beginning of the 90's, is about a Catholic family which remembers a pre-Velvet Revolution period when communists had tried to destroy their Christian faith by forbidding them practising their religion. The Klepek family and others talk about a secrecy when attending a Mass in a boiler room. They used to meet and sing their favourite religious songs at gatherings in private flats. The film exudes joy that a religious freedom did come at the end of 1989 with a former dissident Vaclav Havel becoming a president.
