Space Jam: A New Legacy Behind The Scenes!

What’s up, The TheThings fans! After 25 years Bugs, Daffy, Lola, and the rest of the gang are returning to the basketball court in Space Jam: A New Legacy alongside LA Lakers superstar LeBron James inheriting the role from Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan. To celebrate the occasion, we’re giving you a behind the scenes look at the visual effects work behind this blockbuster sequel.

The new film follows LeBron and his son Dom as they are sucked into the Warner Brothers serververse and come across the villainous AI known as Al-G who shares an uncanny resemblance to Don Cheadle. When Dom is kidnapped, LeBron must team up with the lovable, zany, and all things quirky Loony Tunes in a game of basketball in order to save his son and rescue the Looney Tunes from being deleted from existence

The film took quite some time to get off the ground and there were plenty of hurdles along the way from the global pandemic, to having to create new technological tools, and having LeBron acting primarily against nothing more than a green-screen and cardboard cutouts. With a team like director Malcolm D Lee and producer Ryan Coogler on board behind the scenes as well as superstars from the likes of Marvel veterans Don Cheadle and Zendaya among the cast list, the film was definitely in good hands.
So join us in the jam as we look at some of the behind the scenes work at the new Looney Tunes blockbuster sequel Space Jam: A New Legacy. Welcome to the Space Jam!
