Opinions vary on how to pour Guinness from a can – here’s how we do it (incidentally, it’s how the folks at Guinness suggests you pour it, too).
A few years back, the masterminds at Guinness patented the floating widget technology, which allows a beer poured at home to have nearly the same luscious, long-lasting creamy head on their brews as you’d get if you were at a pub in Dublin. The widget inside each can of Guinness – it’s about the size of a ping-pong ball – is activated once you crack the can open, allowing the creamy head to form.
Once the can is opened, let it sit for a few seconds for the widget to work its magic. Pour the beer into the glass at a 40-degree angle, straightening as it fills. Then let the beer sit for about a minute and watch as that legendary rich and creamy head forms.
Cheers & Enjoy!
