Of course 2021 has had a number of challenges at Tesla. Between serious supply chain constraints and an ever growing backlog of customer orders, the Model 3 and Model Y continue to dominate the EV space.

Tesla has been trying to keep up with orders on the Model 3 and Model Y, but has come to a point that nothing seems to be keeping up with the orders that keep pouring in. In response to the supply chain constraints, Tesla seems to have come up with a new way to bring more cars to the U.S.

If you want a Tesla in 2021, you will have to order either a Performance Model 3, Performance Model Y, or hope that a LR AWD Model 3 delivers before the end of the year. Otherwise, there are no new Tesla's that can be ordered and delivered in 2021.

Last night that all changed. Tesla made the decision to start importing the LFP format battery from their China operations to fit in the Model 3 SR+. With this announcement, Tesla released a number of SR+ Model 3's into their inventory across the U.S.

This car is the only other way to get a car, and compared to all other models, is the only car that is at least showing in Tesla's Inventory.
