Have you ever found yourself scrolling through social media, comparing your life to others? Maybe you feel like you're not as successful or happy as your friends, or you're not achieving your goals as quickly as you'd like. It's a common trap that many of us fall into, but it's important to recognize the negative impact that comparison can have on our mental health and wellbeing.

In fact, Surat Taha in the Quran explicitly forbids us from comparing ourselves to others, and for good reason. When we compare ourselves to others, we often focus on our perceived shortcomings and overlook our own unique strengths and talents. This can lead to feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt, making us feel miserable and unfulfilled.

Fortunately, there are ways to break free from the comparison trap. One powerful tool is to focus on gratitude and appreciation for what we have in our own lives, rather than constantly looking at what others have. This shift in mindset can help us find contentment and happiness in our own journey.

There is also a Hadith in Bukhari and Muslim that offers guidance on how to cure comparison. It advises us to look at those who are less fortunate than us and appreciate the blessings we have been given. This can help us gain perspective and gratitude for our own lives.

So if you find yourself constantly comparing yourself to others, remember that it doesn't make sense and it only makes you feel worse. Instead, focus on gratitude and appreciate the unique path that you are on. Your journey is yours alone, and it's beautiful in its own way.
