The Optolong L-eXtreme narrowband filter has become a very popular choice among astrophotographers who are trying to squeeze that extra bit of detail out of emission nebulae. My own experience of this filter has been fantastic, but it does present a couple of challenges that I think are worth knowing before you buy it.
