Every Avenger has their signature weapon. Captain America has his shield. Hawkeye has his bow and arrow. Falcon has… a wonderful personality? But there might not be a more iconic pairing than Thor and Mjolnir, his trusty hammer. That’s why it was so devastating when Hela destroyed Mjolnir in Thor: Ragnarok. It felt like we were losing part of the God of Thunder himself!

But the one bright side of the hammer being destroyed is that it set Thor on a path to get a new weapon, an even better one capable of taking on Thanos and ending the Mad Titan once and for all. After a very difficult quest, Thor acquired the mighty axe Stormbreaker and the weapon proved to be one of the most awesome weapons we’ve seen in the MCU so far.

But eagle-eyed viewers noticed something interesting about Thor’s new weapon. Stormbreaker seems to emit blue fire instead of electricity. Why is that? If we dive into Thor’s comic history and his previous MCU outings, the answer becomes pretty clear!

So today’s video is all about Stormbreaker and highlights some of the weapon’s amazing abilities. We’ll be talking about Stormbreaker’s origins and how it differs from the comic side of things, while also theorizing what it means for the axe’s future. So go ahead and check out the video below, and be sure to leave a comment and subscribe afterwards or we’ll turn your hands to stone!
