I was commissioned to shoot a fashion story for the House of Peroni in Rome. This was to be my first time shooting mixed media on one shoot.

Whilst being briefed for the fashion story I was asked if I'd also like to shoot a video to be used along side the images. Of course I said yes and this was to be my first ever attempt at shooting anything moving image.

We had 1 full day to shoot both stills and motion in the streets of Rome. This was a solo shooting project for me and other than my stills assistant I didn't have any help with the shooting of this video.

Initially I was presented with a few songs I could use by Mausi and ended up selecting this one as I felt it had more range for this type of content.

I was also heavily involved with the casting as I needed someone who could dance. We cast in London many models but as soon as Sonoya walked through the door we all knew who would be the final choice.

I shot both the stills and motion on one camera. I'd used the Nikon D800 as my stills work horse for many years but never motion. I had no knowledge at the time of correct shutter settings or even how to edit. Somehow it all came together and to my surprise the client eventually signed it off.

As traumatic as it was blagging my first stills and motion gig this was to be the start of my Filmmaking journey.
