Schwarzsee (German: Black Lake) is the name of a small lake and mountain ridge in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. It is located at 2,583 m (8,474 ft), below the Matterhorn.

The lake's surface area is 0.5 ha. A chapel dedicated to Mary of the Snows (chapel Maria zum Schnee) lies on the edge of the lake.

Schwarzsee is a starting point for climbing the Matterhorn as well as hikes to the Hörnlihütte, which can be reached in about two hours.

Accessibility: Near the southern end of Zermatt, the Matterhorn Express gondola (cable car) transports passengers up to the interchange station at Furi. From here there is access to Schwarzsee via another gondola.
