Dr. Ellis elaborates on his research focus, which includes honeybee husbandry, disease and pest control, nutrition, and the impact of pesticides, as well as honeybee ecology. He emphasizes the importance of making research accessible to the beekeeping community through various mediums. Furthermore, Dr. Ellis highlights the growth of beekeeping in Florida, the challenges posed by disease, pests, and weather, and the critical role Florida plays in national beekeeping due to its large bee population.
