Ford has given the Expedition a refresh for 2022, with new LED lighting both back and front and redesigned grilles.

The Expedition also adds a Timberline model, which focuses on off-road performance with 33-inch all-terrain tires and 10.6 inches of ground clearance.

The new Stealth Edition features blacked-out trim pieces, 22-inch wheels, red brake calipers, and a retuned suspension.

Ford introduced a more rugged version of the Explorer this year called the Timberline, and now you’ll be able to get that same trim on the full-size SUV Ford Expedition and it looks absolutely fantastic.

The Timberline also has a wider track and underbody protection taken straight from the 2022 F-150 Raptor.

You also get a solid black grille and Active Orange accents on the Timberlines exterior and interior which complements the graphics well.

The Timberline comes powered by the same EcoBoost 3.5-liter V-6 as the rest of the lineup, however the Timberline makes 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque compared to 380 and 400hp in other trim levels. You can get the same power in the Limited trim levels as well but you’ll have to option for the Stealth Edition Performance Package to get the extra power.

This package blacks out certain trim elements such as the grille, roof rails, running boards, and headlight housings.

The Performance Package also lowers the ride height and gives you 22-inch black aluminum wheels and red brake calipers.

I’m a huge fan of the Timberline and I think it looks especially good with the 18-inch wheels wrapped in 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain tires.

On the inside, you can now get a 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster and option for the 15.5-inch touchscreen that’s almost identical to the one found in the Mustang Mach-E. Not the best integrated screens in the overall interior design, looks just like a massive iPad stuck to the dash.
