I’ve only just recovered from my all nighter at Hadrians Wall Sycamore Gap! Many thanks to @hireacamerauk for the lens which actually made this trip possible and feasible!

A barrage of mistakes and mishaps!

Been planning this trip for well over a week. Hired a Lens from @hireacamerauk who are amazing 🤩 and clear outside website said yep all good to go for clear skies. All the data was suggesting a clear night ahead. Got to my location at steel rigg car park 🅿️ and got some good sunrise shots. Got back to the car and had ☕️ tea and went back with my new @leofoto.official tripod.

9.30pm it was lovely sunset and very clear. Then it went dark and clouded over. I couldn’t believe it 🥲 I was so sad. So I persevered and tried to get what I could and experimented with my light tube.

I was aiming to get the Milky Way over the tree at 10pm but the weather wasn’t good enough. Thanks to @PhotoPills I was able to plan and visualise this better.

I left at 11pm as things didn’t improve one it. Walked back and got within 150 meters from the car and guess what 😕🤷🏻‍♂️

….the skies were clear!!

So I rushed back to Sycamore gap and started shooting again for 40 minutes. I was shattered but again preserved. So here are best from the night and also how it was before 11pm just before I went back to car making a big mistake😯
