Step into the world of culinary artistry with a renowned and celebrated chef whose name is synonymous with innovation and reverence for tradition. In this captivating talk, the chef shares insights gleaned from a lifetime spent honing their craft, emphasizing the importance of cooking with respect to roots and tradition. Drawing inspiration from cultural heritage and the diverse culinary landscapes the chef speaks of the profound connection between food and identity. He reminds us that behind every dish lies a story—a story of heritage, of community, and of the countless hands that have lovingly passed down recipes from generation to generation. Manolis was born in Chania, Crete and grew up in the province of Kissamos. He studied ancient Greek philosophy in Rethymno and Thessaloniki, but in the end he was won over by cooking and devoted himself completely to it. He is chef and co-owner of the restaurants “Haroupi” and “10 tables” in Thessaloniki and “Pharaoh” in Athens. He writes articles in taste magazines on issues related to gastronomy and has presented cooking shows on Greek television and fights for the promotion, and establishment of Greek cuisine as part of our cultural heritage. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
