Ladies and Gentlemen Met Life Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey, the
Garden State. This is where the Pros play. But hey, this time it's going to be a
little different. We're bringing some
HBCU flavor here. This is the 2023, HBCU NY Classic. We're currently
in our Yard Fest space right now, where all the vendors
get together. All of our sponsors
get together. Just pretty much
put on a show for the fans
of this event. This is our
second year here. One of the things
that we really love is the customer
interaction, The ability to kind
of network and meet customers in a more
relaxed atmosphere. I think it's a great
opportunity for Wells Fargo to participate in the community
events like this. HBCUs in particular,
we don't have a lot of exposure
to them here in the Northeast because most of them are down south. HBCUs are a very, very important element in the overall community. And for corporations
like Wells Fargo, it is a prime property for us to
recruit, to hire, and to go back
and give back and help those students and
the administration, the faculty and staff, have some good financial
expertise. It's very huge for organizations
like Wells Fargo. When you talk about
retail banking, a lot of individuals out here to
believe it or not, they do not have a bank. So it gives them
the opportunity to introduce themselves, to talk to customers, talk to potential
customers. For us games like these, supporting work
in these kinds of areas helps to spotlight and accentuate our commitments
around HBCUs. And the commitments
are vast. $25,000 of scholarships to Albany State and $25,000 in scholarships
specifically to Morehouse. In addition, we've got
to support the bands. You can't have
an HBCU classic or a game without
the bands. We're actually
providing a total of $25,000 in shared support for
those institutions. From the bands
perspective, Wells Fargo has
invested over $39,000,000 into HBCUs and HBCU serving
organizations. I can only be proud that I work for
a company that prides itself
in supporting historically black
colleges and universities.
