In this video, I’m sharing how I took back control of my own business.

When I first started my business, I thought being flexible was the answer. But I felt like I was working all the time with no boundaries or systems in place. I was also working on multiple client projects at once which was causing a lot of stress. I was feeling miserable and questioning starting my own design business.

I found a way that let me do what I love, web design, without all the other things I hated about the traditional project structure. Design days, or VIP days, or day rates are the perfect answer to be able to

There are 3 stages to a design day.

The first step is the sales call. My sales calls are usually a pretty long because I really want to get to know the potential client and give a really good estimate of what I will be able to get done for them on their design day. I have a lot of sales call tips that you can check out in this video: https://localcreative.co/blog/confide...

The proposal with my design day sales calls are super easy- I’m selling a set number of hours not the deliverables themselves.

The next step is preparation. It is so important to have systems and automations in place because of the quick turnaround time with design days. You need to get the information you need from you clients like copy, logo files, and brand photos.

You can learn all about the systems I have in place and how you can incorporate them into your business.

And of course, the last step is the delivery. It’s really important to make sure your client is available the day you schedule the design day so you can get feedback quick.

The new way that my business is structured allows me to have the freedom I want and take the vacations that I love.
