John Carpenter’s Halloween is a bare-bones horror film that was made on an extremely low budget, but it proves that less is more, because the film is terrifying. It sees Michael Myers stalking and murdering teenage girls on Halloween night and ultimately disappearing at the end, despite being shot multiple times.

From there, the storyline gets complicated, as the sequel reveals that he was actually chasing his sister, with a later sequel revealing there is an ancient curse on him.
