Meditation is far more than simply focussing the mind for relaxation. Mindfulness is just one small part! This post explores the power of meditation to help you overcome fears, enhance focus, increase reflexes, and tap into your creative genius!
For example, did you know that there is a difference between directive meditation and nondirective? Or that these can be used to train entirely different things? Whereas one can enhance focus and offer respite from nagging thoughts, the other helps to enhance creativity and possibly improve the organization of thoughts.
The effects of meditation depend on which brain functions you choose to focus on. And if you have yet to benefit from meditative practices, there's a good chance you just need to discover the right kind for you. That said, I think the ultimate benefits will come from combining them!
