Matt Guse is the president of MRS Machining. He had to learn how to become a machine shop owner the hard way. It all started when he and his father opened a machine shop in their garage. After the passing of his parents and several economic downturns, Matt remained determined to fulfill his dream of establishing an industry-leading machine shop. Today, Matt and his wife have successfully built MRS Machining with over 25 Mazzak machines capable of CNC turning, milling, multitasking, and more. They also have an impressive quality lab and inspection process. In this episode, you will hear this story and witness Matt's strong passion for manufacturing. He genuinely cares about his staff, work development, and the importance of involving the younger generation in manufacturing technology.

In part two, which will be released in a few weeks, we will dive into Matt's passion for students in the manufacturing industry. He is directly involved with a program known as Cardinal Manufacturing, which is designed for high school students. The program provides an opportunity for them to learn about running a CNC machine shop and gain hands-on experience. The students are given specific roles and responsibilities, such as making parts, invoicing customers, and other related tasks.

Matt's journey is truly inspiring. Despite not having a fancy college degree or prior experience in manufacturing or business, he was able to identify an opportunity in the manufacturing field and create something great. Matt is what hard work and determination looks like!
