We're seeing a lot of death and destruction in Palestine, and in particular, in Gaza. Is God aware of what is going on? Why doesn't God intervene? Dr. Shabir Ally says that if God micromanaged human beings, this would diminish our free will. God judges us in the Life Hereafter and rewards or punishes us based on our choices in this life. He cautions that God will only tolerate the suffering up to certain point. God will intervene, but in the meantime, God is testing us. God doesn't just test the people suffering, but also people like us who are far removed from Gaza, and world leaders, who have the power to put an end to the vicious massacres but don't. Dr. Shabir says we can expect that God will bring about good from every act of suffering, including this one.
